Use Cases:
- Access to download any timeframe student data along with USB device storage option.
- Real time access of student attendance record
- Automatic In and Out Timestamp record and storage by integrated student ID card
The Client wanted to develop a scalable smart school attendance system that can record and access timestamps of in and out time of students. The goal was to create a better solution for an attendance system that can record student databases and provide real-time status of students attendance. CoreFragment Technologies was developed as per the exact requirements and technology choice of the client.

CoreFragment Technologies can help in creating smart attendance system, smart access control system.
If your school or facility is in a location where internet connectivity is unreliable or unavailable, CoreFragment builds systems that store data locally, function completely offline, and provide easy data export through USB or periodic sync when connectivity is available. You get all the benefits of an automated attendance system without depending on a stable internet connection.
Different attendance technologies suit different environments, budgets, and user groups. CoreFragment helps you evaluate the tradeoffs - Bluetooth for passive long-range detection, RFID for tap-based low-cost systems, NFC for smartphone-friendly environments, biometrics for maximum security and recommends the approach that best fits your specific use case, building size, and budget before you commit to a direction.
A natural extension of an automated attendance system is real-time parent notifications - an SMS or app push notification sent to parents when their child tag is detected at the school entrance. CoreFragment can build this notification layer on top of the core attendance system, giving parents peace of mind and reducing the school burden of handling parent enquiries about student arrival status.
A standalone attendance system is useful. An attendance system that feeds data into your existing student information platform, parent notification system, or school ERP is transformative. CoreFragment helps you design the data pipeline that connects your attendance hardware to your broader school management ecosystem, so attendance data flows automatically where it needs to go without manual re-entry.
Yes - this is one of the deliberate design strengths of this system. The receiver stores data locally without requiring an internet connection to function. Attendance is recorded offline, and data is retrieved via USB export when needed. This makes the system suitable for schools in areas with unreliable connectivity, which is especially relevant for the Asian market this project was built for.
Each student is issued an ID card embedded with a small Bluetooth tag carrying a unique identifier. Bluetooth receivers are installed at school entrances and exits. When a student walks in or out, the receiver detects the tag signal, reads the unique ID, and automatically records the timestamp against that student record. The entire process is passive - the student does not need to tap, scan, or do anything. Simply walking through the entrance is enough.
BLE receivers can detect multiple tags simultaneously within their scan window. Each tag broadcasts its unique ID independently, and the receiver logs each detection separately with its own timestamp, even when multiple students enter at the same moment. This is one of the key advantages of Bluetooth over single-read systems like manual barcode scanners.
Bluetooth offers a good balance of range, cost, and ease of use for school environments. Unlike RFID, which requires students to tap their card on a reader, Bluetooth works passively at a distance — students do not need to stop or interact with any device. Unlike biometric systems (fingerprint or facial recognition), Bluetooth tags are simpler to deploy, less expensive per student, and raise fewer privacy concerns in educational settings, especially for younger children.
